Collective macramé exhibition
Share
Time to tell you about one of the most emotional and beautiful things we have done thanks to the participation of some of you!
The weekend of February 2-5, 2023, we organized a collective macramé exhibition in the framework of one of the main craft events in Spain: Creative Trends of Bilbao. The event was attended by 17,000 people and the exhibition was a true success. It was a unique exhibition, unprecedented in Spain.
Thousands of people were able to learn the technique of macramé, see the wonders that can be achieved with it, and discover the artists behind the exhibited works. We received a lot of feedback about the exhibition and it was a true success.
But the beautiful part started long before... When we published the call for participation in the exhibition, we didn't imagine the great reception it would have. The idea was well received and we received an enormous number of applications. It was very moving to read the lovely messages that everyone sent, showcasing their pieces, expressing how excited they were to participate, and wishing good luck with the event. Then came the extremely difficult task of selecting the projects and having to discard many of the proposals... The goal was to showcase the variety of pieces that can be created with the macramé technique, and we look for more special and eye-catching things.
We selected a total of 19 works de 13 artists. Once the exhibition was set up, we stood in front of it to appreciate it as a whole... Seeing how beautiful the setup turned out, we were moved to think about THE MOVEMENT that all of that represented, about the 13 people who had participated, about how involved they were from the very beginning, the great willingness they showed, and the trust they placed in us. We were moved to think about what it meant to set this up. exhibition and realizing that all the effort and time (and money!) invested finally paid off.
We feel very happy and proud to have organized this exhibition, giving visibility to the macramé technique and to the participating artists.
